The MUSH is once again refusing to let me connect.
I can get to the refuge at HotW. If I can't figure out some way of conning the MUSH into thinking it's not me, so I can connect, then maybe I can run it there?
I got myself proxy masking software. Now connecting without problems. It really does seem to be my IP address specifically that it periodically takes exception to.

There are few things crackier than taking a young version of a famous starship engineer and throwing him into a freeform realm where mages and techies can co-exist, never mind the DRAGONS. Especially amidst so many incredible original characters. And yet, not only did you guys play off of my Cadet, you treated him as though he was a singular individual, who does not have to fulfill any stereotypes or act entirely like a joke.
So! In no particular order: To Seeker, Lucien, Tara, Sal, Jaycy, Renne, Icer, Vex, Sid, Kendall, Darcy, Ada, Wolvie, Aly, Pavel, Montgomery, Bly, Stiles, Dark, Yejix, Silas, Fia, Fio and probably a dozen others I'm forgetting, thank you. You guys have been so, so much fun.

I love seiberwing (for more reasons than I could ever count, from PIRATES! to AUs to to beardlings) and wariena (for putting up with my Lugnut, even when he's being mopey about all his bffs leaving him <3 ) and zarla (forever and ever, and ever, because she's half the reason I started playing there) and flight_wo_wings (who I never would have exchanged more than a few passing words with except for his joining, and who I love more than anything) and vaticnostrum (for Flash and introducing me to Brainy and LoSH <3 ) and Recluse-mun-that-I-forget-the-LJ-username-of (YOU GAVE ME A GIANT SPIDER HANDPUPPET BRB MARRYING YOU), and all the other people I've played with, and even the people I haven't played with but will stalk forever (Petey, Ratchet, Yuffie: I AM LOOKING AT YOU. Though I wanna RP with Ratchet soon, omg, he's so awesome already! Hey all,
The Winter Solstice is the 21st, and the traditional date for the Rite of the Winter Winds (for Garou, anyway). Rather short notice. Norman knows the Rite. Anyone up for it? Anyone else already planning on doing it?? I can put something together if people like, but I am as usual stuck without access during MUSH evenings, which makes timings a complete pain unless I try and get everything together for Sunday (tomorrow) daytime.
Thoughts?

The Rite will start at 1pm on Sunday 20th
There is no set finish time. It continues for as long as people want it to continue, and people are welcome to join late. Kin (who have all relevant permissions) can come.

Real life attacked me recently and I had to drop roleplaying for an entire week without warning. Plots ground to a halt right in the middle and so on. This is a big shout out of love to all those people who play with me and my rather extensive crew. Thanks for understanding and rocking when it came to what came up over the past week or so.
Special thanks to a_mind_flip, ashes_ascended and lastfirewllrise because they got the brunt of my holding up plots. You guys really rock!
Now, back to the regularly scheduled rp.. hopefully.

justiceinamask: Babe, I'm glad you picked Flay up to spark this latest influx of crack and insanity. It makes me enjoy what I read there even if I'm not the most active player in the world sometimes. You've got a knack for over the top that I wish I could pull off in my own writing/playing.
bloodredknight: You already know what I think of your characterization as Aya because I've told you many times, but you're a great player aside from the awesome, and a great person and friend. I know holiday retail working is kicking your ass, but you can make it through and get back into a routine. Can you believe we've been playing together steadily for 9 months?
artiglio: My first Ken and always my favorite. You made me get back into the series and made me fond of someone I hadn't thought too much of before. The storyline might be on AIM now, but it's no less awesome. You push me to keep thinking of new adventures and minor characters and I love it.
gonna_score: My other Ken, but inferior by no means. When two completely different players react in very similar ways to a situation, either they've both got it right or they're both wrong. I'll stick to thinking you're both right and both incredibly awesome. It's always fun talking to you and planning things to make happen.
stardust_racer: I still don't know your character's canon personally, but from how much you tell me about it and reveal in your posts, I have a great sense of who Yusei is. You do more for me than I feel like I deserve sometimes, and I never would've expected a random "do you wanna plot this?" IM to take our characters as far as they've come since June.
Lastly, to everyone at plutoix: The people I played with in the winter and early spring are the reasons I didn't give up on RPing completely after a bout of intense frustration and burnout. Even if you're not there anymore and we don't talk, I'm grateful for what you gave me when I needed it.

First, a general note to anyone I've played with this year: Although there aren't a whole lot of you out there, I know I've enjoyed playing with you. I've been fairly inactive this year as far as any sort of real RP has been concerned but the threads I have done have always been fun and I'm glad to have done them.
However, this meme does mention that we ought to call a few people out by name and I've managed to pull a few lovely people out of my hat.

First, to my amazing players in marvel_nextgen: I can't even being to tell you all how delighted I am to have you in this RP. Despite a few rocky patches here and there -- a few of my own making, I admit -- we have managed to keep on going strong for one year and eight months, over one thousand posts, 35 plots, 100 characters (give or take), and no signs of slowing down. This is, hands down, my favorite place to play and my favorite group of people to play with. You all rock so hard!

advent_tree - Even though I haven't participated in all the threads so far, I'm enjoying this holiday plot. Cheers to you for keeping it interesting and for keeping it going through the busy holiday season!
bunnyraebit - Cutest kid ever. Ever. I would steal her to raise as my own, if I could. And so would most of my characters.
kingsboy11 - Ryan makes my characters sniffle. They want to take him in and keep him safe. Malina thinks he'd make such a cute little brother and Hana already wants to adopt!

beyondtherift gets mentioned a lot, but as the year draws to a close and we start heading towards our two-year anniversary, I feel compelled to mention us again. It's not as hard as you'd think to find good things to say about this group. They're an amazing, high-caliber bunch who are committed to bringing their best to the table.
I have never and will never have a bunch of people who mesh so well with me, who think like I do, and who, when presented with an angsty situation in-game, don't say, "How can we make this better?", but rather say, "I bet we can make this worse." I have people who always seem to get characters who mesh well with mine and people who understand my desperate need for turmoil and strife and breaking down to build things up. I have a talented group of writers who always make me strive to be better than my best so I can keep up with them. We can be intimidating to newcomers and we can have our moments of struggle, but we're, above all, a family.
I could mention you all by name, but I'm afraid of leaving someone out. All of you are so brilliant, so close to your characters, so utterly connected to the ongoing saga that is his game that it's hard to think of it as anything but a story that we're telling together. There is not a one of you who doesn't make me happy to be in this game, happy to have such amazing partners to play off of, and happy to have such a brilliant, brilliant cast of characters that we're more than happy to put through Hell on a daily basis.
So thank you. All of you. For what will have been two wonderful years. This game would be nothing without all of you to love and nurture and support it, and I hope we can continue for two more years. <333
