<333 Well, this is my first post in this community, but I've wanted to make a post in it for awhile now, so I'm finally DOING it. I know of certain friends who deserve this attention, so. ;3 Here goes nothing~! It's SUPER FANTABULOUS ACE WONDERMOUS COMPLIMENT TIMEZ.

Firstly:

<33 YOU. I'm not going to mention your name, because I'm sneaky, but you are one of my best friends ever, even though I hate soup. I can honestly say that without our cracky "Avenue Q"-related RPs we started back last year or the "Superjail!" RPs we started back in February, I wouldn't have... gotten back into the groove of RPing. A certain former friend of mine had me convinced, prior to our RPs, that RP wasn't worth my while. ;3 And if it was, it was kind of forced upon me.

...AND THEN WE STARTED RPING. Sometimes weird hypothetical RPs in IM, sometimes script-formatted whatsits, sometimes novel-formatted RPs, sometimes RPs that started out being formatted one way and... ...metamorphosing, somehow.

I WAS ~~THRILLED~~!!! ABSOLUTELY THRILLED.

You were a wonderful Rod, you were a delightfully neurotic Jared, and you are the ACEST JAKE IN THE WORLD. ;D

I mean, yeah, it's true that most people wouldn't understand Awesomehospital or Nicku or the Interwebz God or "Sarah: Confessions of an Office Worker" or Lynchified "Jake and Amir," and "Superjail!" and "Avenue Q" and "Jake and Amir" might be ~~ODD~~ things to RP, anyway, but... that doesn't matter. OUR RPs MAKE ~~MY LIFE.~~

...which is why I shouldn't be interrupting one just to write this, hmm. Perhaps this will earn me a place on Bad RPers Suck~! OH WELL.

This is the End of the Letter,

Your Warden and Amir ~~FOREVER~~!!

...

TO SOMEONE ELSE:

We've been best friends for years. We've been RPing for years, too. Somehow you put up with my terrible writings when I was a little thirteen year old thing and you were a skilled older teenager, and for that I respect you.

THAT SAID,

I have ~~NO IDEA~~ how we got to the point we are today. LMFAOOOOO. You wouldn't think that a "Resident Evil"/"Superjail!" crossover would work very well, but... ...oh, my. <33 The Warden knows that Wesker is his best friend ever, even though he is a negaton and... never, ever shows it. And even if zombies OBVIOUSLY DON'T EXIST AND HE'S TRYING TO BE ASSURING AND AUTHORITATIVE HERE

Future*Warden also looks forward to conquering the living CLUCK out of this world with Wesker's assistance. You better believe it.

AND SUPERSCHOOL, no matter how CRACKY IT IS, is too much fun. <3

Thank you for being super, even if you are a failure~!

SINCERELY,

ME. ;D

...

ALL RIGHT. I FEEL BETTER.

NOW, BACK TO RP.

Dear [info]villainousking, Richard III, King of England:

I don't know if you read this or if anyone who knows you reads this, but your post was the most fun I've had in a really long time. (I was America!) And, um, I'm sorry for spamming up your inbox with England and Russia. Please keep being awesome and please post again sometime so I can exercise America's ignorance!

Okay, Supernatural has a lot of really wacky stuff going on, but here are a bunch of players who have some AWESOME family dynamics going on while dealing with some rough stuff. In a really oversimplified version, the Archangels have some issues over a missing family member, and it's not easy going. Awesome, sometimes messy and painful, but no holds barred RP. <3

09:18 pm - in which I am fair and not fair.
In which I am not unfair:

I have now driven around enough of the Dunwoody/Chamblee/Decatur/Kirkwood area to know /vaguely/ where I am. I am still relying intensely on Google Maps, thank you Google. Be glad to be going home, tomorrow.

The funeral was, as such things are, very sad. I can live without ever hearing or reading _The Runaway Bunny_ ever again, and the dead kid in question was not, in fact, all that beautiful (full of personality, yes), and the intern minister’s eulogy made me briefly be All About Me in a growly way until I got over myself , but in the general sense, it was a very good service.

Calluna and I got to/were dragooned into getting people to sign the guest book as they came in, which I dunno, was more than kind of irritating, logistics-wise, but it at least gave me something to do.

As for the service, in addition to the aforementioned bits, they had music and words ‘o welcome and all that; in addition, there was sort of a picture montage of yon kid’s life, which made me sniffle a few times, and they then invited people to share thoughts. The part that got me most wasn’t Calluna’s sister-in-law’s brother (who was sobbing lots), but her sister-in-law’s father, who told a small story about being there at the birth of his first(?) grandchild, 3 years ago, and then said something very simple about how now he’s burying a grandchild. I have no memory whatsoever of what, precisely, he said, but it just got me.

I know her s-i-l's folks are mildly conservative (and all from Witchita), but they seemed eminently glad to meet and know me, who was identifying to all and sundry as Calluna’s partner, and they are a huggy family, and hug them I did. (Plus, the father has a nice slow-burn-quiet sense of humor.)

There was a post-service coffee hour (because they're Unitarians), wherein conversation happened, the vast majority of it good.

Calluna and I spent a bit of time afterwards Not Being In Anyone’s Company (I went to Borders) and then we went over to her brother’s place, wherein they are INUNDATED with food from very organized neighbors (they’ve got them covered until the end of November), and wherein the older nieceling was the star of the show, once she got back from the park. She and I agreed on my lifting her up by her feet (and, a few times, one hand and one foot) a few times. She is still one of the more definite kids I've met.

In which I am unfair, and in public, too!

So you’re at the funeral of your son’s very young daughter.

When, at that funeral, your daughter Calluna who you are Missing Greatly is staffing the guest sign-in book that the family wants everyone to sign, it’s such a /great/ idea to use that to come up to her and send out a little Bit of Anguish. (“I know you don’t want to speak to me, but I just couldn’t bear not to greet you,” or something close to that.)

And then! When your daughter is off playing with her niece at the coffee hour, it’s even /better/ to come over and say /almost the exact same thing/ to her partner. (I mean, the same damn phrases and rhythm of recitation, only with different pronouns. I.E., “I know she doesn’t want to speak with me,” etc. I know it was the same, I was right there the first time, thanks.)

Both of these, one notes, were in front of other people (strangers, in Calluna's case), as well as those you’re speaking directly to.

At any other time, I’d be all sympathetic, but I’ve gone past sympathetic and into plaid, apparently, because that just made me roll my eyes a lot. Yes! The funeral is a performance, and it’s a performance that’s All About You. Glaaaad to know it.

(No, this is not fair to her; yes, it’s a very cynical spin; yes, as Calluna said later, she’s a natural actress as well as a manipulator; and yes, it is a hard thing to be missing your estranged daughter. I have come to realize, however, that it’s just plain not my job to be fair to her.)

I couldn’t manage to say, “No, that’s right, she doesn’t want to speak to you,” in response to what she said to me; it’d just be driving the nail in. I simply said, “Hi,” in a somewhat strained voice, and let her go.

03:22 pm - Just a quick hello.
Hello folks,

My name is Mal and I've taken over maintainer duties on [info]good_rpers_rock. As you may or may not have noticed, the comm has experienced a few small changes.

I've changed the comm's journal layout, purged a whole bunch of deleted journals from the membership list, and started applying tags to the posts which name roleplays by name. Or if I can figure out which ones are being discussed. Once a tag has been created, it can be applied to any member's post when it is posted. If I've gotten any tags wrong, feel free to let me know and I'll correct them.

There is also a mod email account displayed on the comm info page for easy contact. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to email.

Thanks much!

To everyone in the chat spin-off/AU of a forum RP (Mystlings): Words cannot express how much I love you guys. You've taken what I started as a little side thing and made it sooo much more. The amount of character development and plot is staggering. It's getting so I am considering the events of the chat RP the main canon for my character. In fact, thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure I already do. I can only hope the slower moving forum RP turns out half as fun!

You guys are all awesome out of character to. I've never really wanted to meet online friends in real life before, but if I had the chance, I'd so love hanging out with all you in the real world as well.

So thanks you guys. If I had any idea how great the chat would of turned out, I would of created it way earlier. <3

09:27 pm - flop.
If you ever want to go to Atlanta for a funeral and catch a flu sort of thing while, basically, in the airplane, I recommend against it. On the other hand, I like the rental car and Atlanta's actually not humid, for once.

(Calluna's got more of it than I do, possibly because, being athsmatic, she's more vulnerable to lungy things, or possibly because I got a flu shot. Who knows.)

The Viewing Thing was today; official funeral's tomorrow. I have only ever been to one viewing before, which was weird and creepy, since she was 78 or so and looked totally not at all like herself. In this case, since I never met the person in question, I have no idea if she looked like herself or not, I just know she looked like a baby. Her mother's parents brought pictures and put a couple in with her. This was very effective at making me want to bawl. Of course, so was everything else.

Particularly a small responsive reading in which her brother and his wife took turns hardly being able to speak due to crying, and, also, the first view of stuff.

For the first half hour or so, there was only the mother's side of the family there, which I thought might have been on purpose in some kind of actual sensitve thinking on Calluna's mom's part, but apparently not, as eventually Calluna's mom & dad (and dad's wife, hi blended families) showed up together (in the same car), and Calluna's mom immediately started doing the Doe Eyed Look Of Wistfulness in Calluna's general direction. Now, I KINDA get that. Sure, you miss your kid and wish to have contact with your kid. But in my world, which is mine, you don't do that kind of shit /at/ Sad Events Of Sadness. They're about /something else/.

Being as we're Ill, once the Official Stuff was over, we waffled over going back to her brother's house, but instead bailed and went back to the hotel, and (gee, surprise) fell asleep immediately.

I don't like this flu thing, but it kind of makes difficult decision making easier.

10:14 am - Too many to mention!
But everyone involved in the current plot regarding Proposition X? All the great fics that have come out of it? You are all amazing. To take something so similar to California's Prop 8 and then to start a riot, protests, shootings, and more? It's just great stuff to read.

So props all around to everyone, because you inspired me to jump on-board, too!

Here's a link to every muse and every ficlet written about it:

Enjoy reading it, and amazing writing guys.

For [info]captainjimk and [info]drlmccoy. I know I've told you how amazing you guys are but I seriously adore you. You two are the main reasons for this girl right here, and you make her an absolute joy to play. From the serious plotting to the not so serious; playing with the both of you makes RP everything it's supposed to be. Fun.

Love, love, and more love.

11:10 am - A shout out to a player of an long legged older man
I just want to thank [info]akioooh over here you guys, I'll admit I'm not the world's greatest Roleplayer, My spelling sucks, my grammar sucks and I can even get super lazy with my wording, yet even still Akio-mun has been super helpful with me played with all the characters I've thrown at him/her and has allowed me to do things at my own pace.

I dunno if you'll come across this at all Akio-mun but effin' hell ILU so freaking much, Where have you been all my Utena-lovin' life? There needs to be more great seriouse animoo roleplayers like you out there who are supportive of other players out there no matter what their faults are.

P.S I'm sorry if my Anthy is utter fail my current Anthy muse is stuck midway her movie version and the tormenting bitch I've just come to freaking love about her.

01:25 am - Gee, gosh.
OK, so, I had about 4 hours of sleep last night because I have this tendency to have problems sleeping when I'm alone in the house.

I am... not actually writing my article, ha HA.

Hrm.

I had a point here.

Oh, right. Hate flying. Don't especially like Georgia (no offense, Outlaw & Lilisona). Don't like funerals at the best of times. Don't like hotels. Don't like rental cars.

Really don't like funerals for 6.5 month old babies.

Really /really/ don't like funerals for 6.5 month old babies that will involve my partner's mother. (Who, as has been said before, she has cut off contact with for good and sufficient reason.)

I suppose, on the bright side, I can get some reading done. In and around shyness and protectiveness.

I'll say it first! I LOVE THE STRANGE DISNEY EXPLOSION on [info]sixwordstories  and moving into [info]moderneverafter (hay from a mod).

I'm always smiling whenever I read a thread or when I'm playing with just about everyone. I already love seeing how people have taken animals and inanimate objects and princess and turned them into something really cool. Seriously, it brightened my day! Thanks for being awesome, everyone involved!

11:51 pm - Sad news.
Though I don't think a lot of more recent players knew him very well, I just found out that Kevin Eaches, who played Feinan, Rusty, Hank, Junior, and various other characters over the years, died a few months ago. (On April 5th.)

http://www.funeralplan.com/phillipsfh/archive?id=164309 has the most detailed obituary.

My sympathies to his friends & relatives.

Consider this my love letter to two different, brilliant players that Kaylee has the incredible pleasure of threading with.

First, [info]igotmanparts .  Holy moly, I love your Jayne.  And I love his little secret crush on Kaylee and the way he softens up around her so much.  Honestly, I get flat-out excited every time I get a response notif for one of their threads, and it is just such a joy to write these two together.  (I'd really never shipped Jayne and Kaylee before, but there's a part of me now that wants it to happen so very much, thanks to you.)

And second, [info]tam_md .  I can't get over the awesome that is every thread you touch.  Even in crazy alternate dimensions, your Simon is so spot-on and Kaylee is so smitten happy to interact with him.  I really can't wait to see how their relationship changes/grows/what-have-you in the next AUs.

Seriously.  You two rock my socks.

Will whoever decided to use my head as a football while I sleep please kindly return my head in better condition when they're done?

And while I'm whining about stuff, I've got about four-ish pages of equations derived the other night, and more the night before. Looking it over, I can see that Saturday's math was much better, even if I was deriving while under the influence (hahahaha). I wonder why the heck I'm doing this. I'm a biologist because I'm bad at math. Surely this stuff is for a chemist or something. They use math. I just put numbers in an excel sheet and have it tell me what the answers are...

The last few days have been getting the weather back to normal. Before, it was outlandishly warm here, with no snow. Now it apparently got down to -27°C at Eiels, meaning SquareFranks has now finished its journey from being the hottest place in the state to being the coldest place again. It also means I need to finally dig out my real parka this morning, and not just wear a fleece and my leather jacket. We're no where needing the insulated bib-overalls, yet, though.
